How Can I Be Saved?
we have all sinned
|
First of all recognize that you are not alone. We have all sinned. We are born with a sinful nature and are inclined to sinful choices.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" ~Romans 3:23 |
sin separates you from god
|
Your sin separates you from God and condemns you to Hell. However, your loving God has provided a means for your salvation.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." ~Romans 6:23 |
god sent his son
|
God sent His son, Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary, to bring light unto the world.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Hiv should not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16 |
jesus died for your sins
|
Jesus, being sinless and fautless, gave His life as a sacrifice to pay the price for your sins, so that through His death, you might live.
"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." ~Romans 5:8 |
jesus rose again
|
After three days, Jesus rose again, defeating death. After reuniting with His disciples, He ascended into Heaven and took His place at the right hand of God.
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in Heaven and in earth. ~Matthew 28:18 |
you must believe
|
To be saved, you must first believe. You must believe that Jesus is the son of God. You must believe that Jesus died for your sins. You must believe that Jesus rose again.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." ~Romans 10:9 |
you must repent
|
You must pray to God & confess your sins to Him. You must ask forgiveness, commit your heart to Him, turn away from your sin and ask God to save you. Sin imprisons you. Only through God can you break the bonds of sin.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." ~1 John 1:19 |
congratulations!

If you followed these steps with all your heart, you are now saved. You are now born again as a part of the Kingdom of God.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." ~John 5:24 |
bear good fruit

Let your light shine to the world around and let the love of Jesus manifest in your actions.
"Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit." ~Matthew 7:17 |
Find a church family
|
You need to find a Bible believing church where you can become part of a church family. There you will find mentors. Soldiers for Christ who can help you understand the Bible and encourage your growth in your faith. A new Christian is like a tender sprout. Being surrounded by those who are firmly established will help you weather the storms and grow strong. This also gives you an opportunity to worship God, celebrate Jesus and hear the Word of God.
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." ~Matthew 18:20 |
