Acts 6:1-4
1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. 2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the Word of God, and serve tables. 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. 4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word. |

How do I become a deacon?
I Timothy 3:8-13 sets forth the qualifications for a Deacon. In addition, a candidate must be 21 years old and have been an Active Member of this church for at least one full year. They must be of good report, having shown ability to conduct family and personal affairs as becomes a good steward. Having met these qualifications, a candidate may make a request to the Board of Pastors. If approved, the Board of Pastors will nominate the candidate to the church at the next business meeting. Deacons are confirmed by a majority vote of Active Members present. All Deacons serve at the discretion of the Board of Pastors.
