use of church rules & guidelines

An agreement to use the United Christian Church, its facilities and/or grounds, includes as a condition of that agreement that any event and all those in attendance are subject to these rules and guidelines:

• No smoking or alcohol consumption inside or outside of the church building or on church grounds at any time.
• No running, horseplay, or foul language is permitted inside or outside of the church building or on church grounds at any time.
• Eating and drinking are specifically limited to the kitchen, fellowship hall, and outside.
• To prevent undue strain on heaters, air conditioners, and other temperature sensitive equipment:
  • Keep all outside doors closed when not in use.
  • Keep all inside doors closed when not in use.
  • Be sure to close doors behind yourself as you pass through.
  • Be sure to close any doors that you see open.
• Flush toilets after each use. 
• Clean up after yourself.
• Be mindful that this is God’s house.
• Be respectful and courteous.
• Children MUST be supervised at all times.
• Those bringing children are responsible for ensuring their safety and proper behavior. This includes making sure that the children fully understand and adhere to all rules and guidelines herein.
• A deposit is required to secure a date and time and to ensure proper care and maintenance of the facilities. 
• The renter is responsible for cleanup after the event. This includes any and all rooms and spaces used during the event and may include the sanctuary, vestibule, kitchen, dining hall, bathrooms, and grounds. Failure to clean any portion of the facilities may result in loss of all or a portion of the deposit. 
• Renter may opt to enlist custodial services through the church for an additional fee.
• Damage to the church or its grounds by any attendee at an event is the responsibility of the renter and the renter shall pay for all repair and/or restoration expenses incurred. 
• If  a refund of deposit remains once cleanup costs are deducted, the deposit may be applied toward the cost of damage reparation. However, if actual costs exceed the available deposit, the renter is responsible for the difference.
• Payment for use of facilities must be paid prior to the start of an event.
• Payment for additional clean up or damage repair must be paid within 30 days of the event.
• A rental contract should be signed by the renter and by UCC officials. 
• Deposit is due at the time of signing.
• Walk through of facilities should be done with renter using checklist to confirm the condition and state of facilities at time of rental.
• The contract should include all of the rules, guidelines and relevant fees.
• The contract should include the day and time, and the duration of use.
• Each event should be assigned one designated church staff to attend the event that is not part of the event. (2 staff in the case of larger events) 
• A designated staff member will oversee event, help manage emergencies, represent church and act as point person. 
• Staff member will walk through facilities with renter at end of event and sign off on checklist in order for UCC to process appropriate return of deposit.
• Fees for use may be/will be waived for Members and regular attendees.
• Members and regular attendees should sign contract of agreement. 
• A walk through before and after the event should be done with members and regular attendees (even if fees for use are waived).
• Members and regular attendees who use premises are responsible for cleanup of facilities. 
• Designated staff attendees are not responsible for cleanup.
• Failure to properly clean facilities may result in a cleaning fee.
